Activity or 'Doing Things' with Dementia | Activity is “doing things”

Activity or 'Doing Things' with Dementia
Activity is “doing things”. Not just leisure pursuits, but everything you do in your daily routine. It is influenced by the responsibilities you have, roles in life that you carry, interests that you enjoy, people you encounter, and your abilities. People living with Alzheimer's, or other forms of dementia, have difficulty initiating and completing daily activities due to brain changes in the different stages of dementia. Brain changes may include short-term memory loss, difficulty knowing the steps to take and in what order, difficulty solving problems, and more. Despite these challenges, people with dementia continue to have the need to participate in activities...to do things...just in a manner that is appropriately simplified and supported by caregivers.
